Joan Huang, a Chinese-American high school senior, desperately wants to become prom queen and fit in with her white classmates. She undergoes an experimental procedure that transforms her appearance, but the change comes with disturbing and horrifying consequences. The film explores themes of identity, race, beauty standards, and self-acceptance through dark humor and body horror.
