Instead of focusing mainly on Keiji, this version centers on Rita, a young woman trapped in a deadly time loop during an alien invasion. Every time she dies, she wakes up at the beginning of the same day. She eventually meets Keiji, who is also stuck in the loop, and together they try to break the cycle and save humanity.
