D-Gov Tasks L.G Boss To Be Proactive And Creative In The Fight Against Insecurity.

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN is passionate about the safety of residents living in the State, his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said.

The Deputy Governor made this statement in Akure on Wednesday at a two-day workshop for elected political office holders across the 18 Local Government Areas in the State .

The Workshop which was organized by the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in collaboration with Code of Conduct Bureau, Abuja.

In his goodwill messages, the Deputy Governor tasked the L.G Bosses on the need to be more proactive and creative in the fight against insecurity.

Aiyedatiwa said, taking proactive measures was the way to go to push back and arrest the spate of banditry, kidnapping for ransom, cultism and other crimes which has continued to occur in some parts of the country despite continued onslaughts by security forces .

“We must therefore chart a new course towards strengthening our security systems at the Local Government level” he said.

The Deputy Governor further stressed “for advocacy for individual and communal security network platform must not only be embraced but also be stepped up” .

Challenging the Council Chairmen for the task ahead, Aiyedatiwa declared that, “the people who trusted and gave you their mandates are eager to feel the impact of governance through you” .

He equally solicited for for cooperation and synergy in actualizing the mandate of the present administration as he called for collaboration between executive and legislature for the success of the government.

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Segun Odusanya said the training was important for Local Government functionaries to have requisite operational knowledge of the system.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, ALGON chairman, Hon Augustine Oloruntogbe appreciated the Deputy Governor and the ministry for the workshop.
